Toronto Star: ‘A beautiful little oasis’: Toronto’s new Leslie Lookout Park opens in the industrial Port Lands

“Located on the Martin Goodman Trail near the entrance to Tommy Thompson Park, Leslie Lookout Park includes a green space with a miniforest, a free bike repair station and a nearly 14-metre lookout tower — whose concrete exterior blends in with the nearby silos — with views of the city’s waterfront.

There is also an artificial beach, although signs at the park state that swimming is not permitted. The city told the Star this is for safety reasons as the shipping channel and Leslie Slip will continue to be used by the Port of Toronto.”
