Inspired by the CCA exhibition ‘Actions – What You Can do with the City’, and challenged by the high cost of conventional labour-intensive landscape maintenance, an alternative was proposed that would introduce a flock of sheep to keep the museum’s grounds trimmed and fertilised. The herd would be moved to the city during the summer months, with an urban shepherd on hand to tend their needs. As part of the museum’s mandate, this intervention advances the debate on a possible future for urban agriculture.
